Michelle Elvy

Michelle Elvy is a writer and editor based in Dunedin. Her stories, poetry, travel writing and reviews have been widely published and anthologised, and her 2019 book, the everrumble, is a small novel in small forms.  She edits at Flash Frontier: An Adventure in Short Fiction and chairs New Zealand’s National Flash Fiction Day. She is also Reviews Editor for Landfall. Her anthology editing work includes the international Best Small Fictions series, Bonsai: Best small stories of Aotearoa New Zealand (Canterbury University Press, 2018) and Ko Aotearoa Tātou | We Are New Zealand (Otago University Press, 2020), which she co-edited with Paula Morris and James Norcliffe in response to the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings. This year, Michelle is curating, with Witi Ihimaera, a new project: Love in the Time of COVID: A Chronicle of a Pandemic.
