It’s a Wrap 2020!

The festival hosted 150 speakers across 65 shows during the five-day festival, and it was a joy to see many people supporting and celebrating the immense talent of New Zealand writers, poets, artists, and thinkers. As so many of the WORD Christchurch writers acknowledged in their talks, we have been so fortunate to be able to hold such a festival during this time of a global pandemic. Read on...

That Feeling of Home…

This year’s WORD Christchurch Spring Festival has a distinctly local flavour, with more than 140 of Aotearoa’s writers, artists and thinkers attending the festival, making it a truly world class and home-grown event. Given that, we asked our WORD participants to write a few words of their own on their concept of what ‘home’ means to them. The answers may surprise you!

We've been crossing our fingers for a move in COVID-19 alert levels and we couldn't be more thrilled that Level 1 means we can now release extra tickets to the WORD Christchurch Spring Festival – including to the sessions that quickly sold out under Level 2 restrictions. Book now!
